In recent years, the Riviera Maya has become one of Mexico’s favorite destinations for thousands of travelers from around the world due to its wide variety of beaches, activities and incredible vestiges of the Mayan Culture.
It is no secret that some of the most beautiful and award-winning beaches in this country are in this destination, and therefore many choose to reach Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen and, more recently, Isla Mujeres, to spend some quiet, but very funny, vacations.
In this article we will talk about our three favorite beaches to visit on your next Easter holiday in the Riviera Maya.
Playa Norte, Isla Mujeres
Isla Mujeres is an island just 13 kilometers off the coast of Cancun. It has perfect places to snorkel for free, offers a lot of nightlife, historical points, as well as Mayan ruins.
Among the things to do in Isla Mujeres, Playa Norte must be first. Considered the second most beautiful beach in Mexico, and the most beautiful in Mexican Caribbean, it is a must for this Holy Week.
It is a dream beach that spans more than a kilometer of soft white sands and warm blue waters; the height of the water will not exceed your waist no matter how much you walk offshore, being very safe for the whole family, especially for children and older adults.
Along Playa Norte you will see coconut trees and hundreds of umbrellas and sunbeds, with which you can sunbathe with the sea offering beautiful shades of turquoise blue.
Xcacel-Xcacelito
Located just 20 kilometers from Tulum, it was certified as the first beach in the world to obtain the “Class 1” badge granted by the Ibero-American Beach Management and Certification Network (Proplayas), to recognize the high scenic value of the site.
Xcacel-Xcacelito is one of those beaches where you dream to be. One of the best preserved paradises, a sanctuary for several species of sea turtles that come to spawn in the Riviera Maya.
It is a completely natural beach, so you will not see umbrellas or places to shelter from the sun, more than some trees, so we invite you to go prepared for a beautiful view and one of the most refreshing swimming days in Quintana Roo.
Another of the surprises that Xcacel-Xcacelito has is a cenote where you can bathe in its crystalline fresh waters. By the gradient of the Peninsula, the area between Tulum and Playa del Carmen, is where they come to drain much of the groundwater. The fresh water ends its journey on the Riviera Maya coast, so we see several cenotes attached to this coastline.
Mamita’s Beach Club, Playa del Carmen
One of the favorites and best known by travelers is without a doubt Mamita’s Beach Club, a beach club located in the heart of Playa del Carmen, with one of the most beautiful views that the city has.
It is ideal for a refreshing day at the beach, but you can also enjoy a beautiful pool, music next to the DJ, restaurant and bar, VIP bathrooms and one of the best environments.
In addition, Mamita’s has a wide variety of services for you to enjoy your day at the beach with the rental of beds, lounge chairs and lounge rooms, and you can even hold events at its facilities.
If what you are looking for is to feel like a celebrity while enjoying delicious cocktails and the beautiful beaches of the Riviera Maya, without a doubt Mamita’s is the best option for you.
